Hi everybody :)
Ok this week was beautiful.
Well, it started with snow, but eventually it turned out to
be 20 degrees yesterday and I was HAPPY.
We saw an amazing miracle this week. A man from the middle
east we have been teaching was able to be baptized! There were some
complications along the way, but eventually everything worked out and it was
safe for him to be baptized. I have never seen such faith and commitment to
Jesus Christ and His gospel.
Transfers are happening! Sister Goodsell and I are staying
together in Halifax for my last 6 weeks.
I am so heartbroken knowing that this is my last transfer.
It will be so difficult to leave my mission. But hey, it's not over until it's
over and I am determined to work diligently and enjoy it! Serving a mission is
the best thing I have ever done and I cannot adequately express my gratitude
for the opportunity and the blessings (and even the trials).
One of our investigators, Aiden, came to the baptism. He is
11. We are teaching his grandma, Glenna, as well. I've probably mentioned them
before because they're awesome and I love them. After the baptism, Aiden told
us "I want to be baptized even more now!" We brought him a children't
Book of Mormon yesterday and he was so happy.
I want to share my testimony of the reality of God and of
His perfection. I know that He is our Heavenly Father. More than anything, He
want us to reach our full potential. He wants us to experience and live the
life that He enjoys - eternal life - with Him. So we're here, we have bodies,
we make mistakes, we have families, we have experiences, we prepare to meet God
again. We can chose to progress. It was necessary for a Savior to come because
the consequences of mortality is death (separation between our bodies and spirits
and separation between our souls and God). Because of the resurrection of Jesus
Christ, all people will be resurrected! I am so excited to celebrate that truth
this Sunday and everyday. By obedience to the restored gospel of Jesus Christ,
we can also overcome the effects of sin (spiritual death) as well as every bad
thing that has ever or will ever happen to us. All can be made right! I have
never heard a greater message of peace.
"To obtain a
resurrection with a celestial, exalted body is the center point of hope in the
gospel of Jesus Christ."
- Bible Dictionary, Resurrection
The Church is also doing a super neat Easter initiative
titled #PrinceofPeace.
You can check it out at mormon.org.
It's been super fun to teach people about :)
Also, heads up. Our mission is moving pday to Tuesday,
except for next week, idk what's going on there.
I love you!
