Training Sister De Vuyst

Hey!
So, first things first, I am so sorry that no one heard from me last week. It wasn't my fault, I promise I tried. Our email program was down for a few days, so everyone calm down ha ha.

I'm back this week though, so you all get double the emails!

This week was good, we had a zone training in Gander, which is half way across the island. Road trip! It was good to get to see President and Sister Pratt again, as well as the other missionaries. The travel time took a pretty big chunk out of our week, but hey, that's okay.

Training had been fun but kind of hard so far. Sister De Vuyst is awesome!

The weather has been super nice and warm, spring is coming soon! They say February is the worst of it and it's almost over! I am so happy. Maybe I'll be sent to PEI for the summer ha ha.
Luckily, I will probably stay in Corner Brook until May :)

We have a lot of fun things planned this week, more traveling ha ha. Sister Crump is coming back to Corner Brook on exchange for a Winter Carnival Dinner this week. Winter Carnival is a 10 day event and it's so fun! We missed opening ceremonies because we were traveling (of course), but apparently there were fire works and it was super fun. All of the churches have different meals you can go to, and ours is on Wednesday. It should be fun and a great finding opportunity!

Due to the weather warming up, the snow is melting to reveal ice everywhere. Yesterday we were making the trip back from Stephenville (we travel a lot ha ha). Sister De Vuyst and Sister Edwards (a senior missionary) were in the car and I was driving. Before we left I felt like we should say a prayer, so we did. We hit a super icy spot in the road about an hour later and skid (only a little bit, calm down, Mom). It was fine and I was able to get us out of it, but Sister Edwards was freaking out, it was kind of funny. When we got back to the house she was telling Dennis and Elder Edwards how I'm her hero and she was hugging me and yeah, it was pretty funny. Heavenly Father has definitely been looking out for us, there's definitely been angels around on my mission.

Oh, and here's one funny story.

So I always wake up at 6:25 naturally, so this one night, I woke up, turned the light on, prayed, and went to go work out. Sister De Vuyst, being the sweetheart that she is, just followed and did what I did. We finished working out and I was like "okay, you can go shower". She got her stuff and walked out to the washroom. A minute later I hear "Sister Park? It's like 2:30 AM..." I felt so bad! I swear it was 6:30 but nope, it was 2:30. Poor missionary, her trainer made her get up at 2:30 AM and work out! Oops. But now it's a funny story and we had a good laugh the next morning ha ha.
Anyways, I hope things are good back home!

Love,
Sister Park

Another Great Week in Corner Brook!

Hey everyone!

It was another great week in Corner Brook, Newfoundland!

I spent half of the week in Gander, due to transfers, but it was a lot of fun!

My new companion is Sister De Vuyst. She is from Cardston, Alberta and she is assigned to the Arizona Mesa Mission. While she's waiting for her visa, she gets to come here and be trained by me (poor girl). Just kidding! She has been wonderful and such a sweetheart.

I've been thinking a lot about weaknesses and grace lately, and how essential both of these things are for our eternal progression. We need weaknesses so we can learn, but also so that we can learn to rely on the Savior and His Atonement to make us strong. There's no way I could be doing any of this (even imperfectly) without His help. I am so grateful for the Gospel of Jesus Christ so that I know where to turn in any situation. God loves His children, I know it!

So last Monday, Sarah and Sharon surprised us and took us on a hike up to Steady Brook Falls. It was the best day ever. I'll attach some pictures. There's also one from when Sharon served her mini mission with us.

The work is a little slow at the moment, but the blessings are pouring in because of our diligence in trying! It's totally worth it, which is amazing to me.

Well, that's all I've got for you this week. I hope everyone is doing well! Get to the temple if you can, I miss it so much!

Love,
Sister Park

Going to be training a Greenie...

I'm short on time so this is going to be short!

Hey everyone!

It's been another great week in Corner Brook!

We got transfer letters this morning! Sister Crump is being transferred to Gander and I'll be staying in Corner Brook, training a new missionary! AHHH. Hopefully I don't mess her up too much ha ha.
We're having so much fun out here.

The Church is true! I see evidence of it every day!

Love you all!

Sounding Like a Canadian and Eating Moose Sausage

Hey everyone!

I feel like these group emails get shorter every week, I promise that we are busy busy busy here in Corner Brook!

This week was lots of fun, we had a storm on Friday night. We woke up and had to shovel ourselves out of the apartment. Knocking was a lot of fun too because everyone told us how crazy we were but hey, the message of hope that comes from the gospel and Jesus Christ is worth it!

Funny story, we were in Dominion earlier today and one of the workers bumped into me and I said "oh sorry" and I totally said it like a Canadian. I promise it was on accident ha ha.
We had moose sausages for dinner one night this week and they were actually super good, especially with BBQ sauce ha ha.

Sister Crump and I have been partying while working and it's just been the best time.
The gospel blesses lives, I see it every day.

One of my favorite videos is Because of Him, I'll attach a link, but you can find it on youth.lds.org and oh man I just love it. I feel the Spirit every time I watch it and I feel so blessed that I get to spend all my time sharing that message. It's the most hopeful thing in the world.

My grandpa is in this video at 1:50. ha ha.

Love you!
