Happy Easter!

Happy Easter, everyone!

So, long time no email, p-day was moved to Wednesday this week on account of transfers.

No worries, I'm staying in Corner Brook for the next six weeks. I'll be finishing Sister De Vuyst's training and  Sister Holloway from my MTC district will be joining us. I'm a little nervous, being in a trio will definitely have it's challenges. Hot water, for example. It'll also be super fun. Sister Holloway is from Colorado. The more Americans the merrier!
I seriously hear more about what's going on in America in Newfoundland than I did when I was actually in America. And I get called a yank all the time ha ha.

Speaking of America, hi Sarah, Sharon, and Brianna! I miss you!
My friends are in Utah, be nice to them. They're the best.

So yeah, this week was great. Sorry there's no voice recording, I didn't have time because we were trying to figure out getting a third bed for our apartment. But I'll just tell you about it now instead.

I can't even remember a lot of last week, it was a long time ago, but we started teaching this super sweet girl. Her name is Caitlin and she is from Labrador. She's 18 and she wants to be baptized! (Yessssss). We've had three lessons with her and she came to Church on Sunday! It's cool to feel like the work is actually moving forward. I know that it has been all along, Heavenly Father never stops working on the progression of His children. It's cool to see it so plainly though.

Also, s/o to Auldrey for being an awesome member missionary. You're so cool and I'm so glad we have matching pajamas and buttons for our hats.

Sister De Vuyst and I are having a party every day of our lives, basically. We have had a whole cake in our fridge (thanks Dennis) that we've been working on eating while wearing our bee suits. We also made banana pancakes and didn't burn down the apartment. Life is good in Corner Brook.

We went and took some pictures by this sweet boat on Easter Sunday. I'm so grateful to know that the Savior lives. Without Him, we'd all be toast. As much as I love toast, it's comforting to know that that is not the case.

Have a great week!

Pictures and Stuff...

Hey, sorry, don't have much time today, but apparently my mom sends my voice recordings to everyone (that's so embarrassing), so I guess I don't really have to explain much about what I've been doing this week ha ha.

I was finally screeched in, so here's some pictures and stuff.

So yeah, have a great week, the Church is true. Happy Easter!

I am thankful for a prophet

Hi guys,

Ha ha sorry, I only have 10 minutes, but that's long enough to tell you that I know the Church is true and I'm so grateful for President Monson.

We had a lesson with a man named Alan this week. We taught him the Restoration and when we got to the part about the Great Apostasy he was like "yup, that's the world today" and it just reminded me how much we need a prophet and how grateful I am to know that we have one!

It was so cool to talk about how God did call another prophet, and how Joseph Smith restored Christ's church.

I'm so excited for General Conference ha ha.

We decorated Louis Gees for Easter on Saturday, it was so fun. We had shwarmas and poutine and pizza after, so that made it even better.

That's all I've got for you this week, but here's a bunch of pictures from Captain Cook's lookout with Sarah, Sharon and Auldrey (plus Sister De Vuyst, but of course she was there, we're companions, duh).

Also, we had bread with maple syrup in it this week and it was the best #teamcanada

If Church is canceled, is it still true?

Hey everyone,

So this week was long but good! We got some more snow. Thanks Grandma for the email about the spring flowers in Utah ;)

We are teaching three new people as of this week, which was a miracle in and of itself. It's so good to know that the work is progressing. We're out here, trying our best to build the kingdom and stuff, you know.

Also, my brother Jaden made the baseball team back home so I just have to brag for a second. Proud of you, JD.

So cool story, we were street contacting on Tuesday afternoon and we stopped by at Louis Gees to say hi to Sister Summers because she works there. There was a man who walked in after us and we were like "You can go first, we're just saying hi" and he was like "You're sure? Okay." So he went up to buy his pizza and then Sister Summers looked at us and told us to go up to the counter and she told us that the man had just bought both of us pizza and a drink! We thanked him like a hundred times, oh and his name is Chris. This is so lame but like, I started crying. People here are so nice. I felt like just lying on the floor and thinking about how nice that was but like, obviously I didn't, we were in a pizza place and people think missionaries are weird enough as it is.

So yep! We had a lesson with this awesome woman named Heather and the Spirit was so strong, I know the Book of Mormon is true. After the lesson, Sharon was like "That was better than the District!" which is like the ultimate compliment and I'm not sure it was quite up to that standard, but nonetheless, thanks Sharon.

Oh also, church was canceled yesterday. I know, since when do we cancel church? The weather wasn't that bad, but the senior missionary who is also the branch president is out of town so... yeah things happened and church was canceled. We made the best of it though, we couldn't just have church anyways because we didn't have permission, but the Elders, Dennis, Sister De Vuyst and I all had a mini sacrament meeting and all five of us bore our testimonies. It was a really sweet spirit, I definitely have never been in a meeting like that before.

The Church is true, guys! I've been studying the Atonement a lot with Easter coming up, and I'll include a short little talk for you to read. I know that Christ can and wants to and will help us as we strive and struggle to do our part. He's the best and He always keeps His promises.

Have a great week!

Bee Good

Yo.

I don't know how to start these anymore, but hi guys.

So this week was good, we had a winter carnival dinner at the church that Sister Crump came back for which was sweet. Ex-companions taking over Corner Brook again, temporarily. Ha ha, but really, it was pretty fun and we got free food so win-win. Speaking of food, are chocolate covered potato chips a thing in the States yet?

Sister De Vuyst is killing it, she's such a good missionary. And no, I haven't made her work out in the middle of the night recently.

This week we did a lot of traveling, but we had a good time singing along to Mo Tab and BYU Vocal Point in the car.

So like, "comparison is the thief of joy" and I know that, but I do it anyways (because weakness is part of mortality, which stinks sometimes). I've really been working on it though and something I've learned is that 8 times out of 10, you're doing way better than you think you are. Also this morning, I was looking for a different scripture, but I was lead to 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. I had Ether 12:27 written next to it (which made me laugh because it made me think of Kaden's instagram). I love both of these scriptures and it was a good reminder that we're supposed to weak. That's how we can more fully accept and apply the Atonement and grace of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Not everything we do can be above average. How else could we be fully yolked to Him? We can't receive grace if we don't have a place for it (that place is weakness, just in case you weren't catching on).

Anyways, I hope all of you are doing well!
Bee good!

Love,
Sister Park

P.S. S/O to Sarah and Sharon. Apparently they found my blog ha ha.
