#dreamweavertakeover2016

Hey guys,

This week was rough. It was week 6 which is always the longest ha ha. I was kinda sick but it was ok, I'm good now. It was probably from the hot dog flavored chips Sister Olsen bought for me. They were limited edition and you know I'm a sucker for that.

Transfers were good, Sister Olsen and I are both staying in the promised land of Gander, Newfoundland. We're also getting a senior missionary couple! They'll be able to help us get the Church started here, so we're excited. Still waiting on all the official stuff for the building, but from what I can tell, we're good to go.

Rose was on date to be baptized on Saturday but she's just not ready yet. She's a great lady though. We're teaching some really great people, I love them all. Darlene left us a note on the door again when we went to pick her up for church ha ha.

So we had 9 people at church. 5 were missionaries. It'll get better :)
Lots of Skype calls for STL stuff but it's good. I love this zone.

Newfoundland is interesting because we're all so spread out across the island, but we all just love each other just for being missionaries, even though we don't see each other often. At the end of this transfer, I will have spent 9 months of my mission on the Rock. What a dream, I'm so glad I got sent back here :)

So since it's Halloween, Sister Olsen and I will be getting a pizza and hanging out in our shark onesies updating area books, wall maps, etc. Halloween is my least favorite holiday, so I don't mind that it gets skipped over in mission life. We already had Thanksgiving in Canada, so guess what that means, Christmas decorations go up tomorrow (heart eyes @ that).

I hope you're all doing well. I'm grateful for a Heavenly Father that is always mindful of us, even when we're on an island where it's between 0 and 10 degrees in October.

Love you!

#coast2coast

Hi b'ys,

So this week was busy busy busy.

We drove to St. John's on Sunday from Grand Falls, after church, for an exchange with the Sisters there. Sister O and I had a fun pday together there. St. John's is like the only place with decent shopping, so we had fun. We went to Cape Spear, aka the most eastern point of North America. It was beautiful.

I accidentally put my hand in poop in front of all the jellybean houses in downtown St. John's. Sister Olsen laughed so hard she almost peed.

The exchange was a lot of fun, I was with Sister Bair. I learned a lot from her, she's an excellent and optimistic missionary.

On Tuesday, we woke up in St. John's and went to bed in Corner Brook. #coast2coast

We had District Meeting in Corner Brook on Wednesday. We went to Louis Gees as a district for lunch after. Bashir and Sister Summers were both working, it was such a sweet reunion. Sister S bought my lunch like the angel she is, and Bashir shared his son's birthday cake with us. It was so great.

We finally got back to Gander and hit the ground running trying to catch up on everything. I think we've got it semi under control now ha ha.

Pres. Williamson came and looked at the building in Gander that we want to have church in. He likes it as much as we do, YEEEESSSSSS #churchingander soon, I hope.

Transfers are today, but I'm pretty sure we're both staying in Gander. Presidad said we might not ever be able to leave, and we're both very ok with that ha ha.

Sister O and I went up to Twillingate today. No icebergs today, but super good fish and chips.

Also, I talked to the Corner Brook Sisters and they started teaching Ivan again!!! :')

Everything is good here and even though it was 0 degrees at one point this week, I am grateful to know that the Church is true. It has to be, considering that it's run by a bunch of kids (aka us) out here and it's still alive and well.

Cheers!

If my life were a highway, it'd be Trans Canada 1

Hey guys,

Sorry not a ton of time, we're in St. John's (east coast) which means shopping and pizza cones and the eastern most point of North America, I'll send pics next week.

So Heavenly Father is blessing us abundantly (He always is, but right now it's more obvious). We have FOUR people working towards being baptized out in Gander (DREAAAAMMM). This is the first time in the history of my mission that we have this many people actively working towards applying the doctrine of Christ in their lives fully and being baptized. Beautiful. One of them is Darlene, I taught her once last time I was in Newfoundland when I visited Gander on an exchange, and she totally remembered me, it was good. I don't think she realized I ever left the island ha ha.

So Hurricane Matthew trashed the highway, I'll send a picture next week, I don't have it now.
There was a threat that they were gonna turn the water off in Gander, so we went into Emergency Preparedness mode, filling up our bathtub and buckets, but it all worked out.

Sister O and I saw a shooting star this week. We told President Pratt that Heavenly Father is sending us signs and wonders and that it's probably in everybody's best interest to keep us together in Gander for a while. So we'll see how that goes.

So Sister O is a convert (I think I've covered this before) so she never went to Young Women's. So we're working on our Personal Progress together and it's sooo fun, she just loves it so much.

We raked Rose's leave this week, it was super fun.

Knocked on a lot of doors, inviting everyone we can to come unto Jesus Christ, and it's sooo good.

Here's a half hour recording that none of you have the time to listen to, but here you go Mom.

Loves.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Little Flock on the Rock

Hey everyone!

It's a rainy Canadian Thanksgiving here in Gander, Newfoundland. We're getting the last little bit of Hurricane Matthew today. It's a holiday and all day pday, so Sister Olsen and I are taking a much needed break. We ordered a pizza and an ice cream cake and are in for the night. What a dream :)

Don't you worry though, back to work tomorrow and on for the next 7 months! It's actually kind of weird though, missionaries need to stay busy to stay sane ha ha.

This week was really great. I had a fever for a couple of days, but I'm feeling good now. Sister Olsen made sure I was ok, bless her. She's a lot better at being a grown up than I am, probably because she's been doing it a little longer, but at the same time we're basically the same person, just 13 years apart.

We had a couple of exchanges, one with the Corner Brook Sisters and one with one set of the St. John's Sisters. We visited some people in Happy Adventure (yes that's a real place ha ha, it's the cutest) and Eastport Beach after our Family History Booth in Eastport.

We have been so blessed to have three investigators working towards baptism by the end of the year. That's more than I've ever had at one time on my mission. It's been such a miracle to be serving here at this time. One of our investigators, Rose, the Sisters have been working with for a while. She just accepted a baptismal date this last week :) She came to Conference with us and she loved it... until she fell asleep. Typical Utah Mormon already ;) She is like 70 though, so we'll give her a break. She's great.

The other two are Selina and Brendon. They were just married a few months ago and they have 4 little kids. They live about two hours away from the church right now, so that's a little difficult (it'll be so nice when we get #churchingander).

Sister Olsen and I are still working on establishing the Church here. Someone from the mission presidency is going to come look at the building we like towards the end of this month, I can't wait.

We celebrated Thanksgiving yesterday with some less active members we've been working with, they're so wonderful. We had Jigg's dinner and a turkey (Newfoundlanders have turkey like every Sunday though, so we had both to make it special). There's just so much to be thankful for.

The messages at General Conference were all so beautiful, but one that has been on my mind today is that our Heavenly Father intends for us to make it! My heart is so full of gratitude today for the blessing of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Father's perfect plan of salvation for His children. I am grateful for a living prophet,President Thomas S. Monson, for the Prophet of the Restoration Joseph Smith, for Priesthood power and Priesthood keys, for the Book of Mormon, for temples, for faith, for repentance, for Priesthood ordinances and covenants, for the gift of the Holy Ghost, for missions, for missionaries, for families, for friends, for refining trials, for defining trials, and above all else, for a perfect and promised Saviour who loved His wandering brothers and sisters so much that He willingly laid down His life for them, His friends. I'm grateful for the Doctrine of Jesus Christ that allows us access to that beautiful atonement, along with its cleansing, healing, comforting, strengthening, and enabling power.

Moroni 8:25-26

My prayers are with McKenzie Diderickson and her family, and with all of you.

Love,

Sister Park

P.S. Congratulations to Hailey and Andrew on their little girl coming soon!
